hi guys!! long time no see! i’ve been super busy the past couple months with some very exciting changes in my life:) if you follow my instagram, you already know whats up. but if you don’t, i’ll fill you in!
moving out!
in february, i moved out of my mom’s house with my boyfriend! it was pretty stressful to figure out everything with the uhaul, the utilities, and decorating the house, but we managed. i was out of work in the winter, so i had plenty of time to decorate and put my paintings up on the walls:) i have my own art room with my desk and my easel (which i love!), and we already have all the furniture we really need. i lovee the house, its got great windows and the neighborhood is pretty nice, the neighbors seem friendly. our cat gained the courage to lounge by the living room window too, so we’re all pretty happy:3
art show success!
the opening for my art show, “THE REINCARNATION of finn young”, was a hugggeee success!!! so many people stopped by and i sold a few things as well, which of course i’m happy about. it has been such an honor for my first art show to be at the bff gallery, i always thought that would be something for a more advanced and more recognized artist to do, but here i am! the atmosphere during the opening was everything i hoped it would be,and i even got a little interview in with the bff people on their instagram live. i feel that this is a huge step in my art career, and i feel that my art show has been really revolutionary combining all of my mixed media works. all my jewelry, paintings, and clothing go together in certain aesthetics, styles, and time periods they were made in. the entire show is harmonious in that way, and it’s incredibly pleasing and comforting to be in that gallery with all of my best works inside. again, i have been completely honored to be given this chance at my first art show, it’s been everything i’ve wanted and dreamed of ever since getting out of high school. check out the pictures below!
back to work!
last week, we started back to work at my job! thennn we got half the week off because of the blizzard lolll. i had my real first week back last week, and it wasnt too bad! the weather has been pretty nice, and im really happy to be back working outside and getting my workouts in. my coworkers are always fun to work with, and despite the 11hr days, my job is always the best because of them. here’s some pictures and a poem from last week:) i have plans for that tail too!! (this is where i source most of my natural materials!)
