first of all, my trippy!
so, if youre following my instagram, you probably realized that im back from my trip! it was super awesome, i went to Akumal, mexico with my dad for a work trip believe it or not! my work is actually so awesome, we went down there because we had a coworker who worked with us for 6 years and his family runs a resort in akumal, and he left last year to take over the business. we visited him and stayed at his resort and it was soooo nice. we went to the beach every day we were down there and the weather was amazing!

so after we left akumal, me and my dad went to mexico city! it was sooooo crazy there and there were actually so many people and so much going on. i only know a little but of spanish and my dad doesnt know any, so we really had to try our best to get around. the public transport system was great, i loved riding the buses and the subway (as i always do in any country). we saw a lot, like the Chapultepec castle, the teotihuacan pyramids and ruins, lots of markets, the bella arte museum, the angel monument, and so much more. we got our fair share of souvenirs and pesos to take back home:) it was definitely a memorable trip and i totally flexed my spanish brain!!

shop updates 🤭
i was so happy to come back and start working with my hands again!! i finished these soft soldered brass knuckles that ive been working on and im sooooo obsessed i love them! i had to do a lot of work sanding them down so they dont poke or are uncomfortable to wear. i also had to make sure they fit over my fingers lol. so i added them to the shop, and i ALSO added a new shirt and belt that i finished before i went on my trip! ive ha the shirt forever now and i finally figured out what i wanted to do with it, and i had some extra time on my hands so i just made another belt becaus epeople seem too love them:) theyre super easy and fun to make for me so ill keep em rolling!

new art! + a super special announcement!!

this is my new painting! its called “the flesh, the mechanical, and the divine”. i was sooooo happy to finish it before i left for my trip becaus eit would have driven me insane to not be able to work on it while i was away!!! i love this painting though, i wanted to make something gorey while including these cool dead ferns i collected while i was still working outside. im so happy i got them because it was a last minute decision. the ferns are really cool because on the tips of them, theyre white for some reason and it looks like snow! i also got a bunch of fossilized starfish while i was in dallas last month with my boyfriend, and i wanted to do something with those aswell. lately ive been loving painting myself naked, not in a weird way but in a real way. its like im not hiding myself and im not ashamed at all. its really nice actually. ive been seeing a lot of poetry and posts online that have been associating humans and flesh to machines and the mechanical to the holy and the divine. ive been seeing al ot of venn diagrams and cool stuff like that and ive been a little obsessed with the whole motif! i just love the imagery of a radio or telephone tower or whatever theyre called, because they are just like giant mechanical gods that somehow connect all of us little guys around the world. its fantastic!
and then finally! i have an upcoming solo show in march!!!!! this is my dream!! i having it at the BFF gallery from march 1-29th with an opening reception on march first friday the 7th:]!!! i have huge plans for this show, being my first one while ive been an artist for most of my life lmaoooo. i have to work on making a poster and the show name and all that good juicy stuff, but of course ill update as it comes along. i hope you all omaha folks can make it! as always thanks for reading i love you all!! <3
